We believe that our first and primary responsibility is to our customers. We must treat all of our customers with courtesy and respect. Men, women, and children of all ages consume the food products we sell. We must ensure that the food we serve is of the highest quality and is safe to consume. Protecting the health and safety of our customers must always take precedence over our profit objectives.
We are also responsible to our employees. We must respect each employee as individual. We must make sure that they are properly compensated and that we have provided them with a safe and positive work environment. We must continuously invest in our employees by educating them so that they can be better in their trade. We must be fair and just to our employees. We must make sure that promotion is available to anyone that qualifies regardless of race, age, sex, religious affiliation, or other attributes that have no bearing to the job that is to be performed.
We are also responsible to the communities in which we live and work. We must contribute in ways that can improve and develop our communities. We must support legitimate charities that are geared toward helping the needy. We must pay our fair share of taxes and we must make sure that our corporations as well as officers in our corporation are law abiding citizens. Furthermore, we must make sure that our business process does not exploit our environment.
Our final responsibility is to our shareholders. We must provide our shareholders with above-average return on their investments. We must make sure that our marketing effort is both efficient and effective. We must invest prudently and eliminate all non-value-added costs. In our effort to minimize costs, we must still allow our suppliers to have an opportunity to make a fair profit. We must plan strategically and change decisively. In doing so, we can uphold our duty to our shareholders, communities, employees, and customers.
