Ai-Ai delas Alas rules the comedy universe of Philippine entertainment. There is no female artist now who can match her multimedia talents in the comedy front. She has been a TV star in variety shows and sitcoms. She came out with novelty songs from her albums like Ang Tanging Ina Nyo which became a hit single. She lords the silver screen as a comic with her string of blockbuster films. Her Tanging Ina movie franchise which includes Cute Ng Ina Mo, Ang Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat, Ang Tanging Pamilya: A Marry Go Round and Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last na ‘To!) reigned in the theater row as big successes that is why she is named the Blockbuster Comedy Queen!

On her Tanging Ina Mo franchise she plays different roles of mothers as she says “This is it. Matriarchial tayo. Pagdating sa pelikula, pagdating sa nanay talagang pinapanood natin. Kasi tayo lahat mahal natin nanay natin. So makakarelate sila. Lalo na ‘yung ibang nanay na naiwan nila at gustong balikan, gusto nilang makabawi sa time na ‘di nila nabigay sa anak nila. Lalo na yong mga nanay na nasa ibang bansa makakarelate sila dito. OFW na hindi siya OFW? ‘Bagay sa ating mga cute na ina!” Ai-Ai adds.

The endearingly funny Ai- Ai De Las Alas is the Comedy Queen, the Concert Comedy Queen, and recently the Queen of the Airwaves…or should I dare say, the Queen of it all! Ai- Ai is the Philippines’ “Tanging Ina”, she is the benchmark for all other singer- comediennes to follow. She is definitely a tough act to beat. Ai-Ai is a jack- or should I say, “jill”-of-all-trades. She is a much- loved comedy actress with numerous films under her belt. She has been in a lot of TV shows and did hosting for shows such as Sing- Galing and Masayang Tanghali Bayan. Her brand of comedy is hilarious, her material culled from her own life experiences. She has also won numerous awards for best comedy actress in television and she even won an award for Best Game Show Host in 2000. Her SRO comedy shows continue to garner good revues affirming her position as the Philippines’ Queen of Comedy.
